In addition, for the first time in my life, I stopped snacking on empty calories and starting making better, more nutritious choices. At 63, when I found RTF, I was desperate to find a way to "just eat like a normal person."
Now, after three years on RTF, my focus has shifted. My goal is to be healthy, strong, and independent as I age. More than anything else, I appreciate how RTF has fixed my mental relationship with my body and with food. I don't expect myself to be perfect any more. I know some days won't be perfect, but that never derails me. One of my favorite RTF teachings is, "What matters is what you do MOST of the time." Yes, I'm losing pounds (95), but how many diets have I lost pounds on?
RTF has helped me lose much more than pounds. I've lost my unrealistic expectations and deadlines, l've lost my self-loathing for "failures," and I've lost my fear of regressing to an old lifestyle. RTF has given me the skills and the mindset to grab the reins in my strength and fitness journey. I only wish Anna had founded RTF when she was about 12.
